@adiabatic@joe my first exposure to it is some parameters for linear actuator motion controls, and it is super confusing not only because of permille but some calculations are in milliamps and others are in amps.
@adiabatic FF - 2/207/32 Chrome - 2/104/170 So that's kinda consistent. They are pinging separate places though. Chrome and FF disagree with their testing location - they agree on _my_ location though (my kitchen, as opposed to my bed from other tests).
@adiabatic well this is hilarious. One test each, firefox (with blockers) and chrome. Firefox - 2/221/45 Chrome - 4/27/170 They're… asymmetric from each other?
@adiabatic I did 3 tests with one browser and 2 with the other. All within the span of 5 minutes, not consecutive with each other. Pretty sure same-browser is performing the same consistently, which is super curious. I'll try my macbook now…
@adiabatic@ryb yes, agreed, for sure. RAM was *such* an issue. But I remember every little upgrade (or big upgrade), everything would significantly improve. Every upgrade made something else a big bottleneck. RAM, CPU, HDD, video card, even sound card…
@mandy Having more momitors to play with is always ideal. I have three myself and using them as supporting monitors. I enjoy the ViewSonic brand you have since they're good.
@adiabatic I was thinking just the monitor I have and one of those little portable ones - how great that would be to use when I am sitting at a folding table to program a machine! /@joe
@adiabatic I have a 2009 iMac. Mr TDH gave me a ViewSonic that has excellent height adjustment so I would it use with a Mini and sometimes my work laptop. If I keep another Mac as long as I have kept the iMac, it would be nice to upgrade the monitor. /@joe
@adiabatic Going for Python, since my ancient "skills" in BASIC will get me nowhere fast. After that, I would guess I'll dip my toes into C, because UNIX.
@adiabatic agree that is one of an inexplicable behavior affects to the grid or icon density. I couldn't notice without care. screen rotation also adds more difficulty to the innovated sliding puzzle
