@Kabuku hmm I’m not sure. I really should have a thorough look at Signal but I’ve only used Telegram and Threema yet. If I really want to be safe I use Thunderbird with Enigmail and PGP.

From a security perspective I think they're both an improvement over WhatsApp. Signal probably gets the nod security-wise.

Anything with a server component is inherently compromised as far as I'm concerned. What you really want is End to End encryption with no central server involved at all.

@Kabuku Session looks a lot better. I understand the reality of needing some sort of central server and Onion Routing is an improvement.

The IDs are somewhat inconvenient but is that entirely a bad thing for security? No.
