Got my legal name changed most places it matters now, including with my employer. My passport, which it looks like I might need in May, will take several weeks since I need a new one, given the picture looks nothing like me.
@Kabuku I paid $28 for my original RealID-compliant license in TN which is good for 8 years. The same in WA cost $80 and is good for only 6. They only charged me a duplicate fee ($8) to reissue my license with the correct name.
Who knew that removing my ex from my car title would result in getting new tags? Not me, apparently.
At least the car is registered for another 12 months. And, unlike Washington, Tennessee doesn’t charge a lot. Nor did it require a signature from my ex.
I've found a solution to the payment issue with my ex that satisfies all the terms of the agreement and, more importantly, satisfies me. I consider that...a win.
We have confirmation of what I suspected: she's not signing the papers because I am not paying her spousal support in exactly the way she wants. Even though the way I am paying her is consistent with the terms of the agreement we've already signed. 🍿
There's a Dutch word that describes what my ex is doing at the moment: mierenneuken. She's out of excuses for not signing the final paperwork and...about out of time before the court dismisses our divorce and things get...interesting.
