(1/11) Long thread alert. I don't know how many of y'all know about this little project I've been carrying on over on Instagram since March, 2020. I started wearing band t-shirts as a show of support of my musician pals.
(2/11) I'd wear a different shirt every day and link back to the band or musician. If they had a stream coming up I'd try to coordinate things with the stream and encourage folks to watch, tip, buy merch, etc.
(3/11) I had NO idea how many shirts I had when the project started but I had a bunch. I've always bought shirts at shows and EVERY time I'd see one of "my" folks selling a new shirt, I'd buy it.
(4/11) I've also ended up buying a slew of new shirts as time has slowly marched along since the start of the project. My daily posting has slowed down a lot but I've still managed to post over 370 unique t-shirts since COVID started.
(5/11) Back in December, five of my musician friends were talking about my "Quaran-T-Shirt" project and thought that what the world really needed was a Joanna t-shirt. Ahem. They brought in an artist pal who mocked something up.
(6/11) They went round and round and finally settled on a design. And, they wanted to surprise it with me. And, they cooked up this idea to have a show in my honor and everyone there would be wearing the shirt.
(7/11) And, ALL of it would be a big surprise for me and all the proceeds would go to the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), which helps Austin musicians get health insurance.
(8/11) But, I found out about the t-shirt (long story skipped about how) and after a few more things slipped, they finally told me about the show. So, there's a t-shirt and a show. And, I'm totally blown away by the whole thing.
(9/11) It's been VERY overwhelming—so much love! But, it's benefitting HAAM and I'm VERY happy about that. It occurred to me that some of might enjoy seeing the t-shirt and poster for the show so here you go.
