@33MHz I’ve been really enjoying split (and a few other options), but changing layout hasn’t seem worth it yet. It’s weird that *that* is the bigger transition.
@jacobrealo I did for a while. I found the app quite nice. The data was good but certainly not perfect. I stopped when I realized I wasn’t going to do anything with the data and it wasn’t worth it (to me) having to not charge at night.
@33MHz Off and on in various other cities, too (Dallas, Chicago, I think others). Louisville keeps going because the police are still protecting Breonna Taylor’s murderers. Portland largely due to our awful mayor/police chief and the Fed response.
@j_r_snook I did, however, simplify, in that it is not *solely* him. Our police department has been all on bird with regularly escalating violence, too, for much the same ends.
@j_r_snook Really? Then you haven’t been paying very good attention. He sent federal troops into Portland to escalate things, and it’s been central to his rhetoric for about two months. This has been his consistent strategy.
@33MHz Our terrible President has worked to keep focus on Portland as a test for his messaging for how “terrible” democratic admins are, as police and feds continue to try to escalate violence here. Louisville doesn’t have the same association as Portland.
@33MHz I’m back in New Jersey for a few days, visiting my mom. I’m keeping track of the things I miss from being here. Fireflies and good bagels top the list so far.
I just celebrated Independence Day by calling my elected representative, asking her to help us not run concentration camps we’re letting children die in.
@33MHz@Streakmachine Exactly, on all of the ones before this one, ethernet went through a USB 2 controller, so even though it was nominally gigabit on the three, you were still very limited. 300 Mbps was best-case.
