The Welsh Assembly Government are considering plans to quarantine visitors from England [bbc.co.uk].

Frankly, something has to be done to stop people ignoring the lockdown rules.

I wonder: Are there any US states than are quarantining out-of-state visitors?

@neil I sort of suspect it's illegal. But then, lots of things become legal in emergencies, and it looks like it's happening. Executive orders. Yup.

@33MHz That's almost half the states. Interesting! /@kabuku
853843
@neil If you read them all, probably half of those are "recommendations", not requirements. But still a lot of required quarantines.

@33MHz Ha! Leaving things to people's better judgement never turns bad. Nope. Never. Nuh-uh. @kabuku

@33MHz Here's hoping none of the US health care providers store COVID-19 test results in Excel [theguardian.com]. We're now trying to trace 50,000 contacts [theguardian.com] because of that poor decision.

@neil it's certainly a middle ground. Some companies go by requirements, some go by recommendations, probably depending on liability... where even a recommendation means they have to abide by it.

@neil I'd go with the bloke down the street who looks awfully much like Donk from the Crocodile Dundee movies, and likes to hit people with a hammer. Should keep people under control, I reckon.

@Streakmachine I'm pretty handy with a hammer ;)

@neil I just like to get hammered. 🍺
