Year after year, people on beta-versions of operating systems complain that X doesn’t work now… that label really doesn’t mean anything anymore, does it?
@Streakmachine I think in large part most people still treat beta as "something not ready here be dragons". There just seems to be a rather vocal minority of people who ignore the warnings and complain publicly very loudly.
@thrrgilag I’m just concerned that a whole generation has grown up with the beta label on things that have been in production, and it no longer has the meaning you mentioned.
I sure hope I’m just being a grumpy old bastard though!
