@joe one of the three major telecoms in Canada is basically down today. inter bank transfers are only done on that network, apparently, so a large number of people cannot pay for things. it's a major problem.
@joe I would expect that media owners like Sinclair or the Murdoch empire would be very happy to own the distribution infrastructure and balkanize the net to push their "content". Speed is only a come-on.
