Hey guys, back to check out how things are going.
@jws The 7's waterproofness is compelling
// @cirrus
@cirrus I also am very skeptical we'll see an iPhone announcement at WWDC.
@cirrus I can't see them bundling a $150 pair of headphones with the Phone. Plus they can't keep up with demand right now. How could they keep up with the volume needed for every phone?
@33MHz While there's certainly a lot more valid criticisms of Trump than Obama, overall it really reminds me of the crazy GOP reactions on Obama and his "scandals" like Benghazi, Fast & Furious or IRS. Real issues ignored in preference to "sky is falling"
@33MHz Yes, overreaction is making the public numb to these things as is quickly shifting what the outrage was. You saw that on Colbert last night at the audience's reaction to Comey's firing (cheers) with Colbert having to explain why it's not bad.
→ Comey isn’t fired = outrage.
Comey fired = outrage.
Outrage = outrage.
Dislike AHCA a lot but lots of fake news out there → @NRO does a great job of breaking down how the AHCA treats pre-existing conditions:“no one is left out in the cold” http://bit.ly/2pZpYru
→ Grand jury subpoenas issued in FBI's Russia investigation http://cnn.it/2pxsbrA
→ Trump has hired a DC law firm to go after anyone who suggests he has Russia business ties http://nbcnews.to/2qPymeJ
→ Theory firing was to quell investigation also has to compete with non-exclusive theory Trump is easily upset and lashes out impulsively https://twitter.com/maggieNYT/status/862138459116507136
Which is shocking when you think about it → Okay, maybe White House officials weren't lying when they said they didn't expect this firing to be such a big deal. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/05/10/comey-firing-trump-russia-238192
→ A few things we've learned tonight:
1. Everybody's a hypocrite on Comey;
2. This WH is run like Lucy and Ethel wrapping chocolates.
@prometheus I think the evidence for a liberal backlash is already there and has been since the election. I suspect that, as the GOP found with the Tea Party, this won't necessarily make achieving results easier.
@blumenkraft Top end 2012 MBP scores 3598 on the single thread benchmark and top one today gets 4276. But I agree in some ways current MBPs are underwhelming.
@blumenkraft CPU frequency doesn't necessarily correlate with speed. I'd go to the benchmarks to compare speed. https://browser.primatelabs.com/mac-benchmarks Note SSD speed is a huge difference between today & 5 years ago.
@joe I don't think it's just for notifications and fitness though. It's very good for convenient controls. So I use it to control podcasts/music when I phone is on the charger and I'm moving about.
@joe By and large I don't think most apps make sense for the phone. So some of the companies abandoning it makes total sense because their apps were a waste. On the other hand Google Maps seems weird although they said they're coming back in the future.
You gave up too much to turn back now. ⇄
