@mikehoss I like the idea of it, but I don't know what advantage it provides me on an arbitrary OS setup? Like, I dunno why I'd have it on macOS... but I may do that.

@igmp_join the biggest thing about nix is reproducibility... you can re-build your dev environment with one command. Even if you switch machines. you can make sub-environements as well. here is a post about doing that in data science [josephsdavid.github.io]

@mikehoss I will have to try that. I've got a fairly limited number of machines though, and only a home setup. The re-buildability isn't a huge advantage for me in practice. But this was interesting to me [blog.nixbuild.net] and so is yours.
