a Detroit story
A Detroit Coney Island story:
After mentioning to my aged parent that I would be working at a customer in Highland Park, he started telling me his memories of Victor Street.
His father had a little manufacturing shop there not far from the massive Ford plant.
Sometimes when my dad was there he’d go to Red Hots to pick up some coney dogs.
Red Hots is still there, and appears to possibly be in business. Unfortunately I couldn’t drive past until after it would have been closed.
The sign appears to say “1921.” Wow!…
