USPS and Privatization

It's really shitty that not enough people are paying attention to the national emergency that faces the USPS and the possibility of privatization. If the USPS is privatized, it would be a HUGE blow from creators and small businesses to indie bookstores and libraries plus people who want to send internationally would suffer as well. @joe It's so upsetting and frustrating.

@joe Absolutly no thought given to people who do not have ready access to the Internet. Or reliable access. It's criminal.

@joanna Also rural people will be hurt because those areas aren't profitable to FedEx and UPS and losing the USPS as a public service will basically kill them. It's part of the plan to make voting by mail useless and it's disgusting.

@joe It's the rural folks I was thinking of who have the worst Internet access.

@joanna It's also happening to people in big cities who don't have internet access due to our corrupt telecom industry. One friend in NYC who is a teacher told me there's a lot of students in her class that families doesn't have any broadband access. :(

@j_r_snook It should be but under this administration and a postmaster that's a major donor to the president, privatization is in full swing. and there's a great chance that happens. :(

@joe very tragic indeed. Especially since the postal service is super affordable compared to its private counterparts.

@thedoctor No question, this is a national emergency and the postmaster (which is major donor to the president) is killing it for parts. Obviously, voting by mail is going to be the first causality since it'll be ineffective.
