@unixb0y@33MHz I am a crazy libertarian. No country is truly free in my not so humble opinion. As far as Assange goes he exposed some terrible things the US gov did, to me that is a good thing.
@KI6BJV Yeah I always think it's great when people expose crimes and bad stuff! Why would only cops and CIA be allowed to do that? We're in the information age right now, so info = power ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ @33MHz
“The past was alterable. The past never had been altered. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.” George Orwell
@KI6BJV@unixb0y the claim being made is he attempted to hack classified computers for Manning, which is not protected by free speech / journalism / whistle-blower laws.
@33MHz@unixb0y I say prove it in court one way or the other. In open court too none of this secret court or in the 'interest of national security' stuff. Keeping things in the dark and untalked about just allows more bad things to happen in all our names.
@KI6BJV@33MHz@unixb0y The spying leaks were mostly Snowden. Manning’s leaks were broader, but the most important were civilian killings abroad by the US military.
@unixb0y@33MHz@KI6BJV I have a lot of respect for Manning. She saw some terrible stuff while already in a bad mental place, and I believe tried honestly to do the right thing.
