@unixb0y so fortune runs ok here in osx, you sorted ? you got em both to work ? fortune has some extensions you can use, as u see i use -e linux but theres loads, star wars, family guy, breaking bad etc etc
@unixb0y hey bro, thought you would like hackersays, similar to fortune mod it's a rubygem, to install in your ~ ( gem install --user-install hackersays) remember and put ~/.gem/ruby/2.*.* in your $PATH https://github.com/jarmo/hackersays
@der_Jeff Oh i not a fan of windows at all, even with their new linux/bash implemtation but yeah each has its pro's and con's, use the best tool for the job in hand. @unixb0y
@cirrus I have to keep saying: the windows system itself doesn't have any pros.. Though there are reasons to use it: software that is windows-exclusive: games and some business software because back in the day windows seems to have been cool @der_Jeff
@unixb0y for the random factoids just run : wget randominsults.net -O - 2>/dev/null | grep \<strong\> | sed "s;^.*<i>\(.*\)</i>.*$;\1;" obv that needs only wget installed.
@unixb0y you prolly know this, but here goes .. texnut is just a perl script, drop it in your home dir. then make it excutable (chmod +x ~/texnut.pl) then run it (./texnut.pl)
@schmidt_fu I have set quite a convolouted cronjob/script to run at certain hours on a Saturday & Sunday posting soccer results, wont know how well it fairs till tomorrow, fingers x'd @unixb0y
