@ryb that I've never heard this before and also that they then have to release custom apps for services instead of just relying on Android based apps or whatever.
@nitinkhanna I think that post-iPhone the more tech-inclined companies are looking to differentiate themselves on the software side by owning their own platform. Even if they use a commodity OS like Android they'll want to put something custom on top.
