@Kabuku Arpanet is roughly, I think, about a year older than I am (first nodes connected in 1969), and the World Wide Web is a good deal younger at maybe 32 (general public release in 1991).

In the early years, sure. Not to say that this aspect is entirely gone now, but the evolution of trad martial arts in this sports direction is a good deal more than that today.
