Shiny is better.

It's like setting up wifi: subject to the environment. But worse because you can't do anything about one side of the equation.

@33MHz that sounds like it should do the trick.
304963
I think I can get it to a window facing the tower, and add a directional antenna.
304962
There is some metal near the modem, now, and it's going through more house to get to the tower.
304961
Router's wired performance was very good on the 2nd floor, closer to the front of the house.

@spacenerdmo Both - my desktop is wifi and not in a good arrangement, but I'm also testing from a light server wired next to the router.
304959
Are you going testing from a wired or WiFi connection to the router?
304957
I'm testing out T-Mobile business Internet. It's functional for sure. Upload is great (60-70Mbps usually, sometimes better). Download is sometimes bad, sometimes OK, seldom great. <20, 100, 400. But my placement is bad, and I know my tower. I have a very good directional antenna in the mail, and a couple changes should make it much better. I know because my placement on the 2nd floor had much better performance than where I've moved it on the 3rd floor. 😌

That is a lot of thinkpads. 😮

Spectrum is such a bother.

[matrix] <jameshjacksonjr:one.ems.host> Nice
304724
Sheesh. It wasn't offered 6mo ago in my area. but now it is!
304723
[matrix] <jameshjacksonjr:one.ems.host> Ive had tmo home internet for almost 3 years now and i get between 600-800 Mbps down the entire time the whole 3 years its so reIiable
304722
I'll test my neighbor's more fully. And I don't know if static IP is an option, or IPv6.
304718
The Business version is $10/mo more. Gets you allowed to serve services from the line (home technically you're not allowed to have servers and such). That looks like about it.
304717
Crazy that T-Mobile's home internet packages might perform better than Spectrum's for me. Well, my neighbor just got it, $50/mo "for life", no cap, getting ~600Mbps down. Latency is 10-30ms worse. (20-40ms)

A little thick, a little expensive. Would be nice to keep iterating, though.

You gave up too much to turn back now.
