@33MHz@olszowka I don't tend to rebel by revising (not that anything counts as rebellion anymore), but I have never managed to write a Whole Thing in a month, even when I've hoped to keep it down to 50k. That's just not a good thing size.
@33MHz I thought it was a little gimmicky, but it could be fun. @olszowka is particularly annoyed by gerrymandering; hopefully he'll enjoy it. Or come up with some anti-gerrymandering rules where you try to make the districts fair and representative, ha!
We were packing to go away for the weekend and @olszowka went into the attic for a box and found the remains of a flood. It took us a couple of hours to re/unpack the affected boxes. We suspect an ice dam, but it’s not there anymore.
@33MHz@olszowka tried to let the previous snowfall melt, but then the “48 degrees and rainy” somehow turned into an ice storm and I had to scrape ice off the sidewalks. I got some nice pictures, though.
@mcdemarco@olszowka I see all of that in terms of their PR. although realistically, it's basically three major OS years before it experiences sluggish software. I used to have a 5 for 4 years and it basically was mostly unusable once I got to iOS 9.
@joe Apple isn't cutting people off that soon. It's about 5 years for iOS, which is forever compared to Android phones abandoned after 1 year. @olszowka recently had the issue that the carrier cut off his 4S (thait is, all 4G to his 4s) before Apple had.
@joe Regardless of the viability of a reset button plan, I don't think the investors are interested in punishing themselves for some employees' actions. @olszowka
@mcdemarco@olszowka Kelly Ellis on the T said it best: "The only way Uber changes is to Uber to shut down." I would add that they should shut down temporarily and push the reset button. Maybe even a rebranding.
@joe@olszowka was complaining about not having heard any details about the replacements for these people. (He's not the only one to go.) I guess it depends on whether the new folks are just tools or are interested in changing things, and able to.
