@hackernews yeah and a positive test doesn’t mean you are I’ll or even infectious.

@ludolphus @hackernews and to make things even more complicated, does a positive test mean immunity against getting sick or catching the virus again. if it's the first, you can become infectious again and again without even knowing about it.

@blumenkraft so much uncertainty in life. Don’t worry too much, don’t panic, don’t live in fear. Just live.

@ludolphus and use your brain doing so. ;)

@hackernews @ludolphus therefore we need Antibody tests.

@blumenkraft ok please tell my (and probably everyone’s) government that they are making current policies based on a test that doesn’t do what they think it does. They see what they call infections rise and based on that restricting people to do things.

@blumenkraft Their infections are really positive PCR test. Should tested people just demand an antibody test then after a positive PCR? Or not even take a pcr test and just let them be tested for real viral infection? Pcr is not even quantitive.

@ludolphus no, if you want to know if someone was infected sometime in the past, an antibody test wouldn't help you. if you want good data on how the pandemic is progressing, you need the PCR tests.

@ludolphus that said, even if you use the PCR test, you only can model the reality, you don't necessarily see the reality.

it's complicated... ;)
