Wow. I got a split keyboard (Kinesis Freestyle2) and a Wacom Intuos tablet as mouse. What a different experience! It's sort of pleasant, if weird. Accuracy on the mouse isn't there yet for one-off mouse uses (pick up/down pen), at least yet.

I feel like this could be beautiful with a window manager like i3, where switching to a more mousey purpose is more task-oriented.

Well. Where the window and OS-level UI is keyboard-oriented instead of mouse-oriented. Then you switch to the mouse just when your application needs it.

@adiabatic ty. All my joints are hurting (knees...), so I'm in need of a joint expert. But these are pretty easy accomodations; $20 wacom tablet, $40 split keyboard... Might as well.
