@33MHz isn't like, the point of the Christ that you cannot be perfectly moral and the point of Job is that even with completely moral conduct, bad things can and still still happen to you?
@igmp_join there's some mystery about free will. But yes, that there's more to bad things happening than just "you deserve it", which is partially the explanation for God allowing sin to exist at all. That is, his glory.

And it's shaped by God's will depending on what the nations are doing. But their sin and guilt aren't dead-ends. God says he'll destroy the wicked, but can change his mind.
