I don't know why I need to enter a code from my Mac onto my iPad to verify that I really want the iPad logged into my iCloud account WHEN THEY'RE WIRED TOGETHER to do an update. What security Apple thought this was providing I can't imagine...
@mcdemarco Maybe it's to prevent a "rogue" charging port that is actually a cable connected to iTunes (or something along those lines) from doing something nefarious to the device. Just a guess though.
