For years, I existed on very little sleep but for the last few months I’ve been training myself to be more mindful of sleep and to use it more wisely.

@neil what tool have you that graph?
764393
@lechindianer I have a Whoop [whoop.com] wristband. Amongst many other things, it gives a measure of sleep quality (the vertical axis) and required sleep (horizontal axis).

@lechindianer It's one of the best executed wearables I've seen:

- No interface on my wrist to distract me
- Can be charged without removing it
- Actionable data e.g. if my HRV drops below a certain point, I know I need to take it easy that day.

@neil Can you access the raw data, or does it all go through Whoop?

@jeremycherfas It transmits the data in bursts over BLE to your phone, so in principle you could intercept the raw data. That said, Whoop have a rather simple private API that easy to rev eng and I’m using that to power this chart. // @lechindianer

@neil Interesting how it stays elevated for so long.

@jeremycherfas Where are you seeing elevated for prolonged period? @lechindianer

@neil After the burst of activity at 08:00

@jeremycherfas That’s I work at a standing desk all day. Between waking up and dinner, I don’t sit at all. Even then, my heart rate is lower than the average resting heart. // @lechindianer

@neil Interesting. I would not have guessed that.
