@kyle Nice! It does look promising. Let me know how it's like.

@kyle wow. I didn't even know of this category let alone this brand. And the reviews are encouraging but now I am hoping for a detailed report on how the build goes and how it runs.

@prometheus I got an oddball lunix installed just fine, I suspect the main distros will be okay. It's fast (I got the stacked model with the i7-1185, 64GB of RAM, and 1TB NVMe). Assembly wasn't bad at all, wifi was a little tricky but that's it.

@Kabuku I waffled back and forth for a while, then finally pulled the trigger. It's about time for a laptop refresh, or so I told myself. // @prometheus

@kyle that sounds promising. I would definitely spring for the i7. My alternative lately is refurbished desktops from Best Buy. I build air-gapped systems for some projects and being able to leave wifi out is a plus. many refurbished machines lack it .

@prometheus this would be good for that, albeit probably more expensive than buying used thinkpads off ebay and removing the wifi cards.

Framework gives the impression that YES it can run Linux BUT the ride is bumpy in places.
