After more than two years with my #CarbonCopyPen , it still works great and I use it at least twice a week. The recent #BBBlackboard app update does automatic uploads that make it pretty easy to use with OneNote, even handwriting recognition!
My OneNote notebook for my current work project is LOADED with images from my #BBBlackboard and Carbon Copy Pen. I just wish I liked feel of the stylus tip better.
Current workflow with scratchpad/notes: Note-sized #BBBlackboard with folio doubling as mousepad, use Carbon Copy Pen to sync with Blackboard app. Merge pages if desired then use Share button to send images to OneNote. Open on PC.
@joe I always write so no change. I am interested in trying calligraphy on my #BBBlackboard and I wonder if the exercises would end up changing my natural writing.
@mikehoss However maybe using #BBBlackboard and Carbon Copy Pen, and handwriting recognition in OneNote can even help me find handwritten notes. Just need to find relevant notes while searching, as you say.
The #BBBlackboard app needs some of the nice touches in other like Scanner Pro. I wouldn’t want everything sent into the app to automatically sync to cloud or webdav, but it would be great to set up as an option. Also, no way yet to delete unused folders.
#BBBlackboard Using a flatbed scanner works great so I do recommend it. If anyone has suggestions for other methods to try I will definitely be interested. Soon I will get the Carbon Copy Pen and report how it works.
It seems that if Office Lens sends an image to OneNote, handwriting recognition is enabled. I sometimes get a fair amount of real words out of my notes on the scanned image of the slate. Possibly enough to search for the notes later.
New process for using my slate at work. Feedback is welcome.
- use big Xerox to scan slate to a TIFF - use paint.net to crop, turn brightness & contrast way up, convert to B&W then invert - save PNG - open in Office Lens and push to OneNote
