Think of the children!

@po I’m English & resident in Wales. Prior to lockdown, Wales repeatedly asked Rishi Sunak to either extend the furlough scheme or bring forward the Job Support scheme. He said no. England goes in lockdown and suddenly he changes his mind. Hardly fair.

@33MHz At this point, I would absolutely understand people voting for T just to see how bad things can really get.

@neil NEIL! That was nearly a week ago. Stop time-travelling! // @blumenkraft

@blumenkraft I'm a bit "Ah… er… no" on that last point. I can think of one economic sector that has a large proportion of the lowest paid workers and it's absolutely not essential.

Between Brexit, the pandemic, and the vastly different views of the devolved nations—compared to those of England—I think the future of UK as a union is really under threat.

It’s clear England’s views no longer represent the rest of the UK.

Boris Johnson announces a “national lockdown” and all the Anglo-centric nut-jobs start calling it a “UK lockdown”.

Meanwhile, Wales (also part of the UK) is half way through its latest lockdown and yesterday’s announcement does not apply here.

🤷‍♂️

@blumenkraft That’s a dream of an idealist right there. To be honest, this revelation about him isn’t that surprising, given the company he keeps.

I recently watched a BBC documentary about Trump where Rudy Giuliani joked he "better [his] hands above the table". Today that clip took a sinister turn [theguardian.com].

@lechindianer Well, I’m not unisex... Nudge, nudge. Say no more, say no more. A nod is as good as wink to a blind bat [montypython.net].

The whole "non-male identifying people can use this too _because it's unisex_" tone is just so unbelievably toxic and patronising.

Amazon has a real sexism problem. Why do these things need to be labelled unisex?! There are a myriad of other listings like these.

In other news: I did something uncharacteristically bold the other day. And it seemed to have a positive outcome. I guess I'll know for sure on the other side of the pending lockdown.

It's taken a while, but I'm glad we finally have the granular data.

Rolling 7-day positive COVID-19 cases per 100K across Wales (I'm based where the red dot is). Unsurprisingly, most are clustered around the English border.

Just found out a friend—an academic at the local university—has lost his job as the result of a huge funding gap caused by the lack of overseas students due to COVID-19. Most UK universities are facing a similar situation. But where is the gov't help?!

Dear Arachis,

Stop this nonsense.

That is all.
