@blumenkraft I'm a bit "Ah… er… no" on that last point. I can think of one economic sector that has a large proportion of the lowest paid workers and it's absolutely not essential.
Between Brexit, the pandemic, and the vastly different views of the devolved nations—compared to those of England—I think the future of UK as a union is really under threat.

Just found out a friend—an academic at the local university—has lost his job as the result of a huge funding gap caused by the lack of overseas students due to COVID-19. Most UK universities are facing a similar situation. But where is the gov't help?!
