So grateful I haven’t replaced Ye Olde iMac yet! My ancient Garmin Oregon 400t can get some ten year old street maps from my old Snow Leopard backup. Is this vital? Probably not. But it is pleasant to have a backup for cellular when going to a new place.

@33MHz yep

@33MHz I wonder if losing my nearsightedness to LASIK hastens the farsightedness of middle age. Bring on the LASIK for all distances!!

@i70dan I am about to try some myself also with blue light and glare protection.
1024651
@i70dan drugstore glasses might be good enough for a single purpose?
1024648
@33MHz yes, however that Boogie Board isn’t compatible with Carbon Copy Pen yet. The smallest would be the note sized Blackboard.

@i70dan that’s tough. Reading music and seeing the conductor, or looking at a monitor and also a machine, that seems like no matter where you move your head something will be blurry.
1024643
@33MHz it seems it’s ok people die from anything but anoroc…

@33MHz Kobo has an e-ink tablet now. Or go the Boogie Board Blackboard + Carbon Copy Pen route, I am using that a lot!

Mount Baldhead is not in fact bald. I think a sign said something about getting it vegetated back in the day to keep it stable. There is a doppler radar dome up there.

I went up and down the stairs twice and also hiked around the dunes including a trip from lake level to the top. 964’ according to Strava. Hard to say how accurate that is.
1020208
With the hopes of getting a little tougher before tackling the Grand Canyon, I climbed and hiked at “Mount Baldhead.” It was hard even with cool temperatures. Uh oh.
1020207
@igmp_join Oh no!

@joe my throat got scratchy on Tuesday. Wednesday-Thursday I felt a bit yucky. Today I am nearly better. A very simple and predictable bug that’s been around in my step-kids’ school. Very mild but apparently quite contagious.

@joe @rafaelcosta I use the wired earbuds that came with my iPhone to make phone calls and some of my listening. But when wires are a nuisance I’m trying the Rewinds. They’re safer outdoors bc I still need to hear my surroundings, but sweat is a problem.
1019911
@rafaelcosta Yeah, I don’t see the attraction of in-ear devices now that they are wireless. They can so easily get lost or crushed. And many situations make noise cancellation unwise or unsafe. The Rewinds are so cheap and totally allow outside noise.

Trying out these bargain headphones.

It is beautiful outside. I would go for a run but my nose is still too stuffy from this cold. So a dune hike will be better.

@33MHz wow
